My experience with duchshunds began quite unexpected. Earlier I have breeded samoyeds - I was, and I still am, big lover of them. The dream of small dog was my daughters, Marta. It was on her request that short-haired black duchshund with burns named Wezyr Klan Ady Łowczyni got to our house. Few years later, when one of our samoyeds passed, I myslef wanted to have one more standard duchshund, this time red and long-haired. Together with my husband we went to Dagi Dog kennel to see puppies and little Ares won our hearts at first sight. We both knew that he has to go home with us.
Today, knowing duchshunds well now, I really appreciate them. They're smart dogs with character and are comprehensive. They love lying on the couch and being spoiled as much as they're hard working - on hunting competitions or obidience course. Ares is one of the best trained duchshund in Poland, he passed PT exam magnificently. He loves to learn, that's why I take him to train every week, where together we meet our friends. Taking care of my dogs is so addictive that I never get bored. Never the less most important for me is their happiness. I give my best to meet their individual needs and I am pleased to see happiness in their eyes. With both of them I started in dog shows. I found out that faithful, loving dog will do anything to make his owner proud. When I look at all medals, cups and diplomas of my duchshunds, I feel really touched. Ares is having lot of fun showing himself at ring, that's why we visit a lot of more shows than with Wezyr, also abroad. I am happy with my studs children. I always take my time watching photos of their offspring that other breeders sent me. My hope is that all little ones will inherit what's the best of Wezyr and Ares.
